Here are my 10 tips for faster lose weight loss.
#1. Start Moving. If you have not been exercising you need to start. If you have been exercising on a regular schedule, increase it with a good brisk walk. If you are short on time, use stairs instead of the elevator, park your car as far from your office building or store as possible. If you are doing 1/2 hour of exercise a day increase it to 3/4 of an hour and then 1 hour. You will be amazed at the results.
#2. Start your meal with a salad. It will fill you up and decrease your desire for the bread and butter. Eat slowly, put your fork down between bites and chew your food thoroughly between bites. When you start to feel full, stop eating.
#3. When dining out. Tell the server to skip the bread and butter. Order clear broth instead of a thick soup or chowder for a first course. Don’t be afraid to ask the server how a dish is prepared or to cook it differently for you.
#4.Trade. Trade in sugary drinks. Substitute water for sodas or have flavored waters or club soda. If you can’t have dinner without wine, have it with club soda for a wine spritzer. You are cutting the calorie in half.
#5 Scale. Only weight yourself once a week. Your weight is going to be inconsistent within the week and weight yourself at the same time every week. If you weight yourself everyday you will get discouraged if your weigh goes up. And that could lead to slipping off the diet or lifestyle change that you are trying to achieve.
#6 White. Cut out all white foods. Except for cauliflower, all white foods are very starchy and should be eliminated. Also processed food are usually full of sugar and are not good for your weight loss efforts. Read labels and watch for hidden sugars.
#7. Fiber. Fill you plate with veggies and salad. They will fill you up and help stop the cravings for all the wrong food and snacks. Be mindful of where you eat. Sit at a table with no distractions , t v, computer, or reading material. Focus on your meal and enjoy it. We sometimes eat without really realizing how much we have consumed.
#8. Eating out. When eating out share a meal with your partner or friend. If that’s not possible ask for a take out box when your meal is served and divide it in half right away. Now you have lunch for the next day.
#9. Water. You should be drinking at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day. Although the latest rule I heard is divide your weight in half and that’s how much water you should drink each day. So if you weight 150 divided by 2 is 75. That’s how many ounces of water you should drink every day. Some of it can be clear broth, flavored water, tea or coffee. But without cream or sweeteners.
#10 Mindset. Don’t think of losing weight as a grueling diet that’s hard to achieve. Change your mindset and look at it as an improvement in the rest of your life. If you haven’t been able to play with your children or grandchildren , think how good it will be to join them in activities that you haven’t been able to do in a while.
Think how much you will be improving your overall health by losing weight.
Make small goals for yourself and give yourself a reward (not food) when you reach a goal. It could be a good book you’ve been wanting, a scarf, a piece of costume jewelry,
Just don’t reward yourself with food.
