Omad Diet For Beginners

Have you heard of the Omad Diet?

Want to learn about it or learn more?diet sandwich and tape measure

Well, first it’s what the name implys. You eat one meal a day, that’s it. Nothing else except that one meal. You can decide which meal that will be, but just one meal, consumed in an hour, give or take.

You can decide which time of day is best for you, usually it’s the evening or dinner meal. Because most of us have our large meal in the evening.

Also, most of us are guilty of skipping lunch and or breakfast sometimes so it’s easier to have the evening meal for your one meal a day.

If you are on a different type of work schedule it might be a different time of day that is your “evening meal”. Plan accordingly.
If you have a family, trying to cook for everyone and still diet yourself, it can be very difficult. But the Omad diet might be just the answer you need.Especially if your family is young and are away at school during the day and you have just the evening meal to prepare. No special food to prepare. You eat regular foods, but being careful not to stuff yourself. The Omad diet will fit in nicely with your family’s lifestyle. Our live s are very busy and hectic and trying to juggle a special diet and preparing special foods is not always in the cards.

Do’s and Don’ts

Dieting can get complicated, I know  I’ve tried all of them. Count your points, track everything, eat salads, measure everything, go to meetings. All you do is think about food all the time. And the more you think about food, the more likely you will be to cheat on any diet.

Wouldn’t it be nice to find a simple plan that takes all the guesswork out of the situation?

Set a plan:

  • Decide what time you are going to have your meal. Allow a 3-4 hour time frame
  • Eat within that time frame, preferably 1 hour to eat
  • Try to eat healthy foods
  • Cut back on processed foods
  • Drink your caloric beverage now. Wine, beer, milk, fruit juice etc. One glass only.
  • Eat one average size plate of food only. No more than 3″ high with food.
  • Include dessert on your plate
  • You will find over time that you will stop the cravings for unhealthy foods and start craving healthy foods.

Benefits of the diet

  • Lose weight
  • If you stay with the plan you will not gain the weight back.
  • Won’t have to worry about high cholesterol
  • Good blood pressure
  • No blood sugar spikes
  • Better concentration and mental clearness
  • Stop thinking about food all the time
  • Less cravings and less snacking
  • No bingeing
  • Helps to improve irritable bowel syndrome
  • Less sickness
  • More productive
  • Foods will taste better
  • Will soon start to make better food choices

There so many diets out there, so many that you don’t know where to start. I know, I’ve tried them all! Dieting can get complicated, eat this, don’t eat that, how confusing.Plus, it keeps you thinking of food all the time.

We have been conditioned to accept that 3 meals a day and snacks are the norm and very important to our overall better health. Unfortuntaly, most of us do not follow a low caloric version of that principle. So, more people are overweight and obese.

That’s why there is such a problem with obesity in this country. Everything from the fast food restaurants are oversized and extra large. Whatever happened to normal sizes?

Times have changed. Gone are the days when everyone sat down to dinner at the same time. We all have busy schedules, are on the go all the time, so we eat when we can and what we can. That’s why fast food restaurants are so popular. In 5 minutes you can have a meal. Unfortunatly, that fast food meal is not the most nutrious or the  lowest calorie meal. And most are supersized, which the public does not need.

So we have to make some significant changes in our lifestyle. We want to be healthier and live a better and longer life, with less health issues. So weight loss is a very important issue to tackle.

Benefits of the Omad Diet

Negatives of the diet

There are very few negatives to this diet because you’re  eating the foods that you are used to and that you enjoy.

Can cause nausea.

Can cause anxiety.

You will gain weight if you eat too much.

You have to remember you want to lose weight so moderation is the key.

Final comments and conclusion

One word of caution, unless you have fasted before, you might want to try a less extreme method to see if your body can tolerate forms of fasting.

Many people like the simplicity of fasting, less meal planning, less shopping and the ease of fasting are added benefits.

It’s a simple way to get rid of toxins, improve your health and also to get that extra weight off.

So if you try the OMAD Diet, I wish you the best of luck. It’s easy to follow and you get to eat the foods that you enjoy.
